How Technology is Improving Privacy & Security in Real Estate

Homeowners have a lock or alarm system because everyone understands that security is essential. Maintaining privacy and security when shopping for a home is also important.

The real estate technology platform Nobul exists to connect homebuyers with the right agents simply and securely. Let’s take a closer look at how it works.

Connect Within the App

If you work with a real estate agent outside of Nobul, you’ll need to give them your contact information to keep in touch. After that, it’s impossible to know if they’ve entered your info into a database or sold it elsewhere.

Digital innovator Regan McGee designed Nobul to work differently. All the contact between buyers and agents takes place within the app, so they never even have your personal contact information.

“Nobul is a digital marketplace that connects homebuyers and home sellers to the real estate agents that are right for them,” McGee shared in an interview with SuperbCrew. “Our platform enables buyers, and sellers to openly see the transaction histories, pricing, reviews and services of real estate agents. Agents can then actively compete for the prospective buyers’ business.”

Users can seamlessly message agents, share listings, and stay fully connected. However, they don’t have to necessarily share their phone number or email address with agents.

Data that doesn’t get shared with agents can’t fall into the wrong hands. Only once you pledge to work with an agent is it possible for them to get your basic contact information, but you have to opt in.

No Cold Calls

Sometimes, realtors cold call people in the neighbourhood to see if they’re willing to sell their homes. Most people find this disruptive; if they wanted to sell, they’d find an agent themselves! It’s usually just a nuisance — the agent tries a desperate Hail Mary because they have nothing to lose or think they don’t.

Nobul collects certain essential basic information so the app can properly connect buyers with the right agent. It needs this basic data to work, including phone numbers, emails, and names.

However, the information the platform collects about devices and usage is used in aggregate and de-identified, so it helps evaluate and improve the services and sends push notifications to benefit users.

They will never share user data with unauthorized real estate agents or other entities.

Security Measures

Nobul has implemented all the technical safeguards we can control to shield personal information, such as appropriate authentication procedures, limiting administrative privileges, and transferring all data to HTTPS.

“Perfect security” doesn’t exist online, but Nobul has minimized the risk wherever possible. Technical security measures on the backend and an approach that shares information only on a need-to-know basis keep your information safe.

If users or agents inform Nobul that they no longer want their information displayed within the app, they’ll remove it, though they may hold onto it for a period of time to protect their rights and interests.

People want to get the benefit of modern technology without facing any of the security drawbacks, and it’s not hard to understand why. Nobul can pair homebuyers with an agent who fits all their needs and wants, saving them money and time. Just like homeowners equip their homes with a security system, Nobul ensures that your valuable data remains protected and safe.
